The most concerning fact in our country today to me is the stratification of our society. We are presented with this idea at birth, we indoctrinate it all our lives, only to teach it to our own kids, that "you can be anything you want". If this is so important to us, the why isn't it true? Such a distinct component of our person, most of us rarely achieve. Now, I am not saying people aren't happy, I am just saying that the can't really be what the "want" to be, they just become happy with what they are. People adapt, so they don't really notice the change that much. Truth is, class in society is something we perceive to be relatively unimportant in this nation of dreams. However, statistics show that the best chance an American has a being "wealthy", is being born into a wealthy family. Upward mobility among class is not very common among Americans. I think this is a real problem.
